Modern Connections: Dances In Progress Showing

Modern Connections is pleased to present Dances in Progress: a showcase and feedback session that features choreographic work in progress on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at The Jackson Dance Lab at Tufts University, 50 Talbot Ave, Medford, MA 02155. Doors will open at 6:30 pm, the show will start at 7:00 pm. Tickets are free; donations are optional and welcome. Donated funds will be equally split between: 1) The choreographer who receives the Audience Choice Award 2) The choreographer who receives the Panel Selection Award 3) Modern Connections in support of future initiatives like DIP.

The purpose of Dances in Progress is to create space for 6 local choreographers to test out their ideas, build their audience, and receive critical feedback while presenting an opportunity for audience members to engage in the dance making process.

The goal of Dances in Progress is to offer resources to artists that include access to a performance venue at no cost, feedback on their piece from both local experts and the general public and photo and video documentation of their work that can be used for applications or promotional materials.

Dances in Progress is funded, in part, by Mass Cultural Council's Festivals & Projects grant.
